A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday to strengthen business ties between Bahrain and the UK.
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) will outline areas for improving co-operation and mutual interest.
The MoU, which also aims to attract investment to Bahrain, was signed at the BCCI office by its chairman Dr Essam Fakhro and BBBF chairman Khalid Al Zayani.
The move will see the two groups working closer together by organising seminars and conferences as well as arranging trade delegations to the UK and British business missions to Bahrain.
Dr Fakhro said he was delighted to further strengthen the special business relationship that exists between the two countries.
Mr Al Zayani said that the MoU was an historic achievement of which the BBBF was very proud.
"There are clear synergies between our two business groups which we hope to capitalise in order to forge stronger business ties between Bahrain and the UK," he said.
"We are excited and look forward to work with the BCCI and its large diverse private sector membership," he added
